Man of Valor
Joshua 1: 7-9
7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
A man of valour is a man that knows who he is in the Lord. He knows that his strength comes from the Lord. He is courageous, and he observes the law that has been set before him. He does not look to the right or the left; he prospers in whatever he does. He prospers because he does not turn away from the word of God; his faith is firmly rooted in God. He knows God’s word to be truth and he trust in it. Therefore wherever he goes and whatever he does, he will do it with courage and assurance.
He meditated on the word of God, making it a part of him. He lives by it, knowing it will not mislead him. He is successful, because he knows that with God on his side he cannot fail. This confidence can only come from the Lord, for the man of valor knows with God, he has nothing to fear, and he is assured for he has studied the word of God and chooses to live by it. Therefore this man of valor, this man of success, this man of courage, this man who fears the Lord, and not man, makes a difference wherever he goes; for his confidence is in the Lord and not himself.
My prayer for today; Lord, cause the men of valor in this day, in this hour to arise and take their post. Lord strengthened that they will stand in courage in all that they set out to do which glorifies you. They shall know prosperity and will always remember that it is you that enable them to be successful and that wherever they go that you shall be there also. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
