His Peace
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33).
His peace (God) does not include confusion. So therefore when we allow ourselves to partake in things that promote confusion instead of peace, when have to know that God does not have anything to do with it; He is not a part of it. There are so many avenues for confusion to come into the churches…It may come by means of gossip, where saints are talking about one another; lack of order, competition amongst the saints. We have to know that these things are not of God. He does not promote those kinds of behavior and He is not pleased with it.
If we go to Proverbs 6:16-19, it talks about the seven sins of the wicked. It states that those things are an abomination unto Him. When something is an abomination it is an object of intense disapproval or dislike. “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” (Proverbs 6:16-19). These things all bring about confusion in the church.
Often times when we are lacking the peace of God, we will find ourselves getting caught in those very things that the Lord declares He hates. It is because we are not truly seeking the peace of God or from God, but we are more desirous of what sort of recognition we may receive of man. By any means necessary, whether it is lying, being haughty, making up stories or causing discord among brethren. But when we truly have the peace of God, those things will not plague us, nor will we allow them to operate through us. We are confident in whom we are and in faith knowing who Jesus is and thankful for the sacrifice he made for us… and in knowing this we have peace.
What a gift to know that no matter what circumstances we are faced with, that we will still maintain peace. We will not be authors of confusion, because we truly know Christ and he is truly a part of us. If he is within us, how can we not have and know peace? Trials will come and go, but His peace, His peace will still be with us, for He is within us via the Holy Spirit. My prayer for today is Lord may we come to know and have true peace in Christ Jesus. I pray that we be not authors of confusion, but of peace amongst all saints, in Jesus name I pray, Amen!
