In His Presence

Psalms 95:2
“Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.”

To be in His presence is an honor.  To know that the spirit of the Lord’s presence is with you is a feeling that no word can truly explain in depth.  To come in His presence, means that he has granted us permission, He has welcomed us into the realm where we can truly go before Him.  This is why it is so vitally important to always have a prayer life with a ready praise for our Lord in our hearts.  It says “let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.”  When we look at the word psalm, it means to come before him with a sacred song or hymn.  What better way to praise our Lord, than with a song of thanksgiving.

We should have a desire to be in the presence o f our Lord as often as possible.  For we know when we are in His presence, there is noting that can compare to the love we feel in those moments.  For being in His presence maintains that level of intimacy we need with our Lord.  We know with certainty that no matter how bleak things may seem, that He still took the time to come as visit with us…now that’s love.

The more we are in his presence the more we well desire to do the will of God.  Being in his presence takes us to a place of encouragement and strength that we cannot obtain on our own.  God so yearns for us to be all that we can be in Him because He sees us as his children.  Just like our earthly dad’s desire that we are successful and achieve much in life, just imaging what our Heavenly Father wants for us.  He wants us to be happy, and fulfilled not lacking anything.  But in order to obtain all that he has for us, we must first become dedicated and eager to be in His presence.

My prayers for today are Father lead and guide us in the ways of discipline and obedience; that we would aspire even more to be in Your presence this day and every day.  Father we know that the more time we spend with you, the stronger we will become in you.  We thank you for all that you have done for us and that which you are yet still to do, and that we will always have a song of praise stored in our hearts for you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
