God’s Will

Hebrews 10: 35-39

“Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that you may do the will of God and receive what is promised. “For yet a little while, and the coming one shall come and shall not tarry; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and keep their souls.”

When we have confidence in the Lord, we will receive the promise by doing the will of God.  In order to do the will of God we must be confident, we must exercise endurance and we must have faith.  The word says that if we shrink back (become weak); we will be destroyed, therefore not receiving the promise.  In faith we will not become weak and shrink back, but we will however receive the promise of God by doing the will of God.

In order to do the will of God, we must first know the word of God.  This is why it is important to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15).  When the word becomes a part of us, it becomes easier for us to do the will of God, for His word is on the inside of us.  When the word of God is on the inside of us, we are stronger and we obtain the confidence we need in faith.  Then when we are faced with adversities, we will not shrink back; we will however exercise our faith and stand in the strength of the Lord.

My prayer for today, Father God, I come before you asking you to impart on us the confidence we need daily to do you will.  I pray that we always have the endurance to walk in faith by living righteously and being a good example unto others.  I ask that you continue to strengthen us daily that we will not shrink back, but we shall stand in all adversities which may come our way; and you will find us favorable, in Jesus name I pray, amen.
