Complete Devotion
“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” (Philippians 3: 12-15).
As we embark on a New Year we as believers must be totally become devoted for the number twelve represents God’s Perfection. The scriptures states that we must not dwell on the past mistake, past failures, or even the things we left undone. There are too many Christians who dwell on that which do not concern them when there are people dying all around us. We must stay devoted to our calling, whatever that calling may be. It would be in our best interest to stay devoted to that calling, by staying focused on it. God really desires and wants to perfect that which concerns us.
My prayer for today, Father, let us not dwell on the things of past, but cause us to be devoted to that which you have called and is calling us to do in this hour and the future, so that your perfect will shall be done in our lives, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
