Betrayal (The Spirit of Judas)
Matthew 24:10-13
“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
We are warned in this scripture that betrayal is something that many of us will experience at some time in our lives. Therefore having received the warning, one would think that we would then be prepared for the manifestation of it. “It can be a very painful state to have to go through, especially when it’s someone whom you love and have really put your trust in; or even looked upon as a teacher of the Word. Many have been wounded by this Judas spirit, but “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20).
Today too many are compromising their walk with God to satisfy their flesh. Because we might not like what someone says in truth, they will come against that person. They are taking a stand against righteousness for the sake of personal gain. Their love is waxing cold toward righteousness, for they have allowed their flesh to overrule their spirit man. So those that are standing for righteousness are being betrayed, and even hated while the false prophets are continually being allowed to deceive God’s children. We say we see, and we say we know…yet are we really willing to take a stand for righteousness sake? Or are we going to continue to compromise who we say we are in the Lord, by letting the enemy wreck havoc on God’s people.
Though betrayal can be a very hurtful action, we must continue to trust God and stand on His word still. We cannot sell out in these last and evil days, for the word says that iniquity shall abound. So if the word of God has prepared us for the things that are happening, do we read the words and allow our love to wax cold and follow after deception, or do we take a stand and live the words, enduring and knowing that our Fathers words are true and “Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”(Psalms 4:5)? “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15). For those that endure to the end, the same shall be saved.
My prayer today, Father I come before you in the name of Jesus; giving you the glory and honor that is rightfully yours. Lord I thank you for your covering, and I praise you for your mercy and grace, for you love, and your peace in the midst of the storms. Lord I ask you to give us the strength to stand so that we are not moved by betrayal in these last and evil days, keeping us under your divine protection, covered with your full armor and the blood of Jesus. Teach us how to stand for righteousness and holiness that our eyes will be opened and our ears truly hear what “Your” spirit is saying in this hour, amen!
