Are You Ready
Matthew 25:10
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
When the bridegroom (Christ) came, those that were ready went in with him…It is so vitally important to understand the parable of the ten virgins in its entirety. I would encourage all to read Matthew 25:1-13, and really get a full understanding of what the scriptures are saying. But this week I would like to bring special attention to the word in verse 10, “READY”. Are we really ready for the return of Christ Jesus???
A ready servant lamp would be constantly full of oil…Meaning you are saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, you are not only being a hearer of the word of God, but a doer as well. A ready servant is evident by their fruits… Are you fruits likened to the spirit of God? Do you love, have joy, peace, are longsuffering, gentle, good, exercise faith, meek, and do you show forth temperance? We know how we should live, but are we actually doing it…Matthew 7:20 says, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” We know that we cannot hide anything from God, for He knows all things… So if we are not bringing forth good fruits…judgment will come, and when Christ comes back and the door is shut, let us pray that we are accounted with those that were ready.
“For yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.” (1 Thessalonians 5:2). Are you ready? Are you quenching the spirit of God, are you hindering his children, and are you producing bitter fruits that shall be cast aside? Or are you being a good example of a true Christian by emitting good works? “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” This is the words of our Lord… My prayer today is Lord teach us to walk in the Holy Spirit, so that we may be humble and faithful servants unto you and you are able to do the work in us and through us that you so desire to do. Lord let us always be on watch, lamps full of oil, so that we shall be ready for your coming, in Jesus name, amen.
