Time to be Real
Philippians 1:16-17
The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
One whom is called by God to minister His Word should preach it in hope and not desperation. A person preaching in desperation has a hidden agenda. This is not a person whom is sincere, but instead wants to cause more confusion and division. This is not a person that wants to see people get delivered, but instead it wishes to keep you in bondage. This is why the word of God also say’s “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14). We must be real with God, and have a sincere desire to see people free from bondage by not adding affliction to it, but instead preaching His word in love. Preaching His word in love not only gives freedom to those that are in bondage, but also to the speaker, for there is freedom in the Truth and God’s word is true!
We have to be real in everything we do in the ministry for the Lord. First we must remember that the glory is God’s and His alone. If we are doing anything and we are not sincere about it, it would be better for us to not even do it at all. When we are sincere, we do not have to broadcast everything we do concerning the Kingdom of God. Remembering:
Matthew 6:4
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Matthew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Matthew 6:18
That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
It’s not about us…It’s about God and doing His will sincerely. If we are not sincere we then become like the Scribes and Pharisees. Matthew 23:12 says, “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he who shall humble himself shall be exalted.” Then when we read further in verse 13 there is a woe. A woe is grief or distress resulting from a serious affliction or misfortune. And the Word says, “But woe unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites! For you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men: for you neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them who are entering to go in.” (Matthew 23:13). We must make sure we are not operating in this spirit. It is so important to know that you are truly being led by God in all that we do today. God has given us all unique gifts, we should not envy one another of the gifts and anointing that God has place in our lives. But search and pray and ask Him to show you your own unique gifts that He has placed on the inside of you!
It is time for each and every one of us to be real with God. It is not the hour to perform or waste your time on meaningless spirits such as jealousy or get caught in the spirit of self-exaltation. This spirit of deception does not care who it hinders, don’t let it catch you off guard. Be on your post… Be on guard! “Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:26). But instead let us preach the word of God in love, being sincere in all our ways, encouraging one another and praying for one another. Father I come before you in the name of Christ Jesus, asking you to purge us of all iniquities, let us be a people who loves the way you so desire for us to love, in sincerity…Lord I pray that our walk with you become a real walk that you Lord, may find pleasing, Amen!
