No Respect of Persons

Do you ever find yourself showing favoritism towards individuals you fellowship with whether it’s in ministry, on the job or even in social settings… You feel an obligation to them because maybe they are related to you or just a close friend. So instead of you being just in every situation, you choose to treat someone unfairly and in the process may even wound them. This is why the Bible tells us; “For there is no respect of persons with God.” (Romans 2:11). When we don’t just learn the scriptures, but actually apply them to our lives, we will find that because we have truly put our flesh under submission the Holy Spirit will then guide us in pathways of righteousness, and we will error less in this area.

We have to be ever so careful, especially when we are in a position of leadership or authority to never manipulate the scripture by compromising the Word of God for our own agendas. Everything we do, no matter how good it feels in the moment or even looks to other individuals, God judges righteously. For it is also stated in His Word, “But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” (James 2:9). Let us continue to examine all our motives and actions and even in the smallest of things allow the Holy Spirit to truly lead us and guide us. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Colossians 3:17). God forbid if we were to wound someone knowingly; for we are all accountable.

Remember, a controlling spirit knows no boundaries and is very subtle in how it operates. if you are not watchful, it will manipulate and deceive the very elect. It is bias toward that which benefits it agenda. But it will also do everything it can to discredit those who refuse to be used. Let us remember what happened to Jezebel. She was so lost in her bondage, that she was blind to her end which was death. Many today are so deep in bondage, that they do not realize that unless they repent and truly surrender to God and His will, their end will be the same as Jezebel. Let us take a stand against all things that are not of God. Take a stand against biasness..Don’t become an Ahab and allow the spirit of Jezebel to manipulate you.

And to those that are being treated unfairly remember; “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (Mark 13:13). Lord I pray we do not allow an controlling spirit to use us or manipulate us to wound your children; I pray for deliverance for those in bondage and may not be aware that they are being used as well as for those who are willingly being used. Lord strengthen those who have been wounded, and that they may come to see themselves as you see them. I ask this all in the name of Jesus, amen!
