Tucked Away
Some pains are just too much to bear…
So, I tucked them away in a place called there.
Only allowing them to surface when the pressure can no longer be restrained,
Reaching the point of shedding tears in vain…
Tucked away in a place that is deep, yet not deep enough…
This is the pain of loss.
The loss that never returns…
I am left with memories that do last a lifetime,
Even if it’s only in my lifetime.
I miss you…
And the sheer acknowledgement of that alone,
Is honestly too much to bear!
I fancied myself being strong,
But not when it came to losing you…
To know…
I will never lay my head upon the lap of my mother again,
Yes, it is simply too much to bear.
So, I tuck you away again…
To that place that is so deep within…
Just not deep enough…
And I say see you later, for goodbye is too final…
