Passion on Purpose
What’s your passion? This is a common question many of us are asked as well as asking ourselves when we are planning for our future…Trying to decide what we want to be when we grow up so to speak…What is it that we like to do? What are we drawn to and so on? We should want to spend our time doing something that we are passionate about, but is our passion linked with our purpose? Let’s start by defining the two… Purpose is defined as the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.; while passion is a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept. So, are the things in which we are passionate about lining up with my purpose for which we were created?
In order to know your purpose, pay attention to your passions. Pay even closer attention to your maker, the one who created you to fulfill a purpose in Him. We must have a relationship with Him; the almighty, the Creator of the Heaven’s and the Earth…The one who knew us even before we were in our mother’s wombs. Yes…We must have a relationship with our Creator to even begin to know what that purpose is. Once the relationship is established in the spirit of truth, I feel God through the gift of the Holy Spirit that dwells on the inside, will give you and me the passion to fulfill that purpose. With this comes much obedience…Again pay attention… There is that still, small voice that speaks to us and direct us, but so often we don’t want to listen… In our disobedience we often find ourselves in a place of discomfort, because we chose to listen to the wrong voice.
John 16:13 says, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” So the Holy Spirit will speak to you if you will hear Him…He will let you know what you were created to do, and He will gift you the passions as well as the anointing to fulfill that purpose, but we must stay on the course. Circumstance come nigh to us all, but those circumstances aren’t all designed to take us out….Sometimes they are “allowed” to push us in the right direction and when we finally find ourselves in that place we thought we did not want to be, we then realized that this is exactly where we am supposed to be. Let us remember, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” (Proverbs 18:16).
So, follow the voice of God, remembering it isn’t always the one that’s the loudest, but often the smallest in which speaks volumes. Our God does not make any mistakes; He will lead and guide us in the direction He desires for us to go and it was all decided before we were even in our mother’s wombs. What an awesome God we serve! So, my petition to the readers, allow your passion to lead you to your purpose and walk in it out in blessed assurance, knowing that it was already preordained just for you. Your very own blueprint, uniquely and wonderfully you…
