The Spirit of Deception
There is a strong spirit of deception in the land. Saints of God, do not allow
yourselves to be deceived in this hour. It is very important for us all to have
an intimate relationship with God like never before. The way we are able to
obtain that relationship is through Christ Jesus, who died on the cross that we
might have everlasting life. We are able to access God through the Holy Spirit. I urge everyone if you do not already have a relationship, now it the time to develop one.
We develop a relationship, by welcoming the Holy Spirit into our lives, we are then given discernment. Discernment is a gift from God. It is nothing that we have obtained on our own…but a gift through Holy Spirit. To discern something means being able to grasp and comprehend what is normally obscure. What a great gift this is, to be able to understand something that we ordinarily would not have been able to.
Mathew 24: 11-13
11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
The bible is warning us here that there are those who will come that shall deceive many. The word shall means that something will certainly happen. This is something we should really take heed to. Now the good news is what verse 13 tells us; if we endure to the end, we shall be saved. So we need to make sure we do not allow these spirits to come and deceive us; again we can do this by standing, and enduring to the end.
2 Timothy 4: 3-4
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
This is the problem that we may often see in the churches today. Many prefer to be appeased rather than disciplined. There are many who no longer want the truth, but instead they want to satisfy their flesh; their egos want to be feed instead of their spirit man. We should never stay in a house where the word of God is being compromised. It is so very important to be in a house (church), where sound doctrine is being taught.
“For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Romans 16:18).
If you are under this kind of leadership, I have one word for you….RUN!
Ephesians 4:14
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;”
We can sit and pretend that we do not know better, but the word is saying, grow and mature in the word of God. Do not allow yourself to listen to and believe anything if it is not lining up with the word. This is why 2 Timothy says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
And finally let us not deceive our own selves. “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” (Galatians 6:3). Meaning let us not become conceited and start to believe that we are more spiritually superior to our brother and sisters in Christ. “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” (Romans 12:5). “For there is no respect of persons with God.” (Romans 2:11).
My prayer is that we always remain prayerful, praying one for another, and encouraging one another. Most importantly let us not be deceived in this hour. There are warnings throughout the bible, so that we know what to look for and be prepared for. I pray that none of us be deceived in this hour, in Jesus name amen!
