No Compromise

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.

Today we are living in some very perilous times.  If there was ever a time for us to no longer compromise our walk with the Lord, now is truly that time which is upon us.  Now is the time for the Body of Christ to pray without ceasing.  Lately I have been reading so many hateful things being said concerning this presidential election.  Many of us have chosen the candidate that we are supporting, and there is nothing wrong with that.  The problem comes in when you start to exemplify behavior that is not Christ-like because of it.

If we are assisting in spreading anything negative concerning either candidate, we must truly examine our actions.  We must remember the enemy is very crafty at deceiving people.  The Word of God states that even the very elect will be deceived.  So again, if you are reposting something derogatory about a person, you are not exemplifying the characteristic of Christ.  I would like to go the book of Galatians and refresh many of us on what sort of characteristics are Christ-like.   In chapter five it talks about the fruits of the Spirit.  As Christians we should be know by these fruits, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  (Galatians 5:22-23).

Now that we know what is Christ-like, let’s take a look at what is considered works of the flesh. We know works of the flesh has nothing to do with the spirit of God right?  Galatians 5:19-21 states “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  I need not add anything to this, for it speaks for itself!

I would also like to take a look at the book of Proverbs 6:16-19; “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.  With the love of God I would beseech every one of us to truly examine our actions. We cannot allow ourselves to be deceived into believing that this sort of behavior is ok.  Remember, “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.”

Finally, we can go to Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”  (2 Corinthians 13:5).  We profess faith, yet we still feel the need to get in the way of God, with our works of the flesh.  So if you are promoting anything negative concerning either party, you are allowing yourself to error before God.  We have to be wise; everything that we read or look at isn’t always the truth, remember Satan’s job is to manipulate, deceive, destroy and kill…  Are you going to allow yourself to be his tool???  Trust God, for His Word is sure and true!

My prayer for today is for us to lay aside all strife, let brotherly love continue and Let God be God!
