Servants of the Lord
saiah 54:17
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”
When the Lord calls us his servants, he is acknowledging that we do indeed belong to Him. The word heritage means something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth; an inherited lot or portion. When we consider this, He is saying we are part of his family, we are His children. He says that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against us in judgment thou shalt condemn. This alone should give us such a sense of peace, knowing that our Lord loves us so much that He says that we are His, and that no harm shall come night unto us.
So often we walk through circumstance that may have us feeling so very heavy, but we always seem to make it through, no matter how things may seem. We should then consider Isaiah 54:17, and the promise in it. We know that it is our Lord that cause us to rise out of whatever darkness we have walked in, it is our Lord that has caused us to overcome all hardships no matter how severe they may have seemed. Though trials may come for a little while, it says that “no weapons formed against thee shall prosper.” It did not say that the enemy would not attempt to attack us, but it does say that those attacks would not prosper. The antonym of the word prosper is to decline, when something declines it becomes weaker. So we know that no attack the enemy uses against us will prosper, but instead it shall diminish.
My prayer for today is Lord may we always be humble and willing servants unto you. I pray that we always live righteously, so that we may receive our heritage of You, and that no matter what weapons may come up against us that they shall not proper. Lord I pray we will always consider your goodness, and be glad that you have chosen us as your servants by serving you whole mind, body and soul, in Jesus name, amen!
